To BRHS Students, Parents & Guardians:
At Bridgewater-Raritan High School, we know that consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s academic success. When students are present, they learn more, form stronger relationships with teachers and peers, and are better prepared for college, career, and life beyond high school. This year, our school is placing a strong emphasis on reducing absenteeism and improving punctuality, and we are asking for your partnership in this effort.

For this school year, BRHS will continue its successful implementation of cell phone restrictions during instruction on campus. Educational research is abundantly clear: possession of cell phones within instructional environments negatively impacts learning. Not only does cell phone use negatively impact one’s ability to retain information, but it also specifically correlates with lower test grades. Moreover, research suggests that cell phone use by other students within the classroom, will negatively affect learning for every student in the classroom, even those not specifically using cell phones.

As a result, within instructional environments throughout BRHS, cell phones are not permitted to be present. Students who possess a device in the instructional environment should keep them turned off, and placed apart from their body, preferably in backpacks, lockers, or away from learning activities. Teachers will provide a specific location and procedure for students to follow.

Students are permitted to use cell phones during passing time, lunch, and in study halls with teacher permission. Check out the policy and rationale here: https://tinyurl.com/22sjq3z7

Good Evening BRHS!

Welcome back to school! Here's a brief reminder that tomorrow will be an E Day schedule. Students will meet with every class. Please see the attached schedule.

For 9th grade students who haven’t already received their Chromebook or ID, please go to the Library in the 900 building during an available period or during lunch to pick it up.

Seniors who did not pick up their Open Campus label during the summer, should pick it up outside the large cafeteria during unit lunch. Be sure to bring your student ID. You may park in the spot assigned to you in PowerSchool tomorrow. Leaving campus for Open Campus and Senior Study Hall will start on Wednesday 9/3. Also, the following spots are impacted by construction materials: 107-117. These students may temporarily park in the solar lot facing the woods until further notice. Be sure to hang your parking tag.

Have a great first day!
