Three Bridgewater-Raritan High School art students were recognized at the Art Administrators of New Jersey Emerging Artist Exhibition at Kean University on Sunday, February 1. Leila Zhou's painting received one of the five Merit Awards presented. She will now be considered for the elite Governor's Award that will be announced this spring. Also, her fellow high school art students, Amelia Schenk and Nayelli Esquival-Barrantes, were recognized as Participants at the New Jersey Emerging Artist Exhibition. Pictured are Leila's winning painting, Amelia with Art Teacher Jason Draine, and Nayeli with Art Teacher Sarah Nasson, who is also the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Advisor to the National Art Honor Society.

The annual Elective Fair, where a diverse range of elective courses are displayed in exhibits to Bridgewater-Raritan High School students, was held on day 1, Wednesday, January 21, in the small gymnasium. The fair will be held for the second and last day on Thursday, January 22, also during unit lunch in Bridgewater-Raritan High School's small gymnasium

Students and coaches on the Bridgewater-Raritan High School girls’ cross-country team, which won the North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 state championship this past fall, were honored at the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, January 20. The state sectional title was the first in 19 years for the girls’ cross-country team, which won the championship on Saturday, November 1, at Greystone Park in Denville.

Weekly Update
Bridgewater-Raritan High School students participated in and viewed numerous exhibits during day one of the Psych Fair, held on Thursday, January 15, in the main gym. The Psych Fair will continue on January 16, also during unit lunch.

Each summer, the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Council of Schools Association provides a variety of summer programs to the students in the community. If any BRRSD staff members are interested in running a camp for the first time, then the deadline for upcoming camp proposals is January 25.
