The refurbished baseball complex at Basilone Memorial Field in Bridgewater was the host for its first game when Bridgewater-Raritan High School opened the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 1. Among the featured additions were the bleachers and netting behind home plate, as well as the dugouts on both the first- and third-base sides. The facelift was part of the Referendum 2023 in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District. Barry Walker, a member of the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Board of Education, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Bridgewater-Raritan, the 2024 Group 4 state champion, started the season on its renovated field with a 9-4 victory over Rancocas Valley High School.

The first Unified Flag Football Team from Bridgewater-Raritan High School held its first practice on Tuesday, March 24, when the players and coaches worked out on the 1000 Turf Field.

This first session on the Bridgewater-Raritan High School campus followed the team’s visit to the New York Jets Training Facility on Wednesday, March 18, in Florham Park. The New York Jets Launch Event Clinic on that day attracted the 18 high schools, including Bridgewater-Raritan, that play Unified Flag Football in New Jersey.

Bridgewater-Raritan’s Unified Flag Football Team will practice again on Monday, April 6, on campus after school, when the squad will prepare for the season–and first-ever— opener on Thursday, April 9, at West Morris Central High School in Chester. Bridgewater-Raritan’s home opener will be played on Monday, April 27, against Voorhees High School.

Here are some scenes from the practice on Tuesday, March 24, at Brdgewater-Raritan High School, and from the New York Jets Training Facility in Florham Park on Wednesday, March 18.

Trent Levash and his two Bridgewater-Raritan High School teammates, who started the day in Atlantic City, lived to wrestle another day under New Jersey's brightest lights.

Levash, the No. 7 seed at 285 pounds, extended his bid for a State tournament title by winning both of his bouts on Thursday, March 12, at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Meanwhile, junior Matt McCann, the No. 13 seed at 165 pounds, and senior Andrew Adell, the 28th seed at 113 pounds, will compete after being eliminated from state championship contention, but, along with Levash, they are still alive for a top-eight podium spot after splitting their two matches on Thursday, March 12. They will wrestle in the wrestleback consolations.

The second day of the State tournament will be held on Friday, March 13, when the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the wrestleback consolations are contested.

The State tournament will end on Saturday, March 14, when the champions and the top eight overall finishers in each weight class are determined.
