Their audiences differed, but their performance remained the same—both were superb.
The 6th Grade Orchestra and the 6th Grade Band at Eisenhower Intermediate School delivered a spectacular concert during the day and then again a few hours later that evening on Thursday, December 11.
On that morning, the two 6th-grade musical groups performed before their classmates and staff during the school-wide assembly held in the Eisenhower gymnasium.
The Eisenhower Orchestra and Band students, along with their dedicated directors, returned that night to play in front of family and friends in the school’s gym, which was filled with an appreciative crowd.
Their delivery was guided both morning and night by Tom Waggner, the 6th Grade Orchestra Director for both the Eisenhower and the Hillside Intermediate Schools, and Jacob Ulm, the Band Director for both Eisenhower and Hillside. Intermediate Schools.
“The Orchestra had two Incredible performances today, both at an assembly for their peers and at their evening concert,” Mr. Waggner declared. “The students have shown tremendous growth so far this year and I am immensely proud of them. I couldn't have asked for a better first concert here in Bridgewater-Raritan.”
"The 6th Grade Band had two wonderful performances today, one for their peers during the day and one for family and friends this evening,” Mr. Ulm claimed. “I'm so incredibly proud of all of these young performers and I look forward to seeing their growth in future concerts."
One spectator who also enjoyed the day and evening productions was Dr. Laura Bassett, the Principal at Eisenhower.
“Our Eisenhower Eagles were fantastic today in their assembly and evening concerts! It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work and growth of our band and orchestra students,” Dr. Bassett said. “And I thank Mr. Ulm and Mr. Waggner for their exceptional leadership and direction of their ensembles, and our entire music department for their commitment to the arts education of our students!”
