Discus: Scored a whopping 16 points, Madison D'Elia (12th) hit a massive personal best with a distance 122' 11", making her 11th in the state, taking second overall. Emily Leppert (12th) took third overall with a 114 03", also a new personal best. This now makes her 21st in the state. Madeline Corbitt (10th) placed fifth overall, 111' 8", a personal best and 26th best in the state. All three of them have their sights on Talita Silva's school record of 128' 11" set in 2003.
100m: Stacey Yang (12th) has been slowly chipping away at her 13.4 time, making 10th and 100th of a second improvement for years. Through perseverance and dedication, but most importantly, patience. She found herself in the finals alongside with Liya Medallon. Stacey ended up with a massive personal best of 13.26, which broke a three-way tie, giving her sixth place. They had to go to the 1000th place to break the tie, it was wild!
800m: Diya Inta (12th) and Lana Guelich (10th) ran a smart race, using each other to get to the finish line. Taking fifth and sixth, respectively. Diya matched her personal best from the indoor season with a time of 2:26.85 while Lana ran a personal best of 2:27.54, finally breaking through that 2:30 barrier, a nine-second improvement. Unheard of!
Liya Medallon had her work cut out for her in four events. Not an easy feat. She placed fifth in the triple jump, two inches off her personal best. Took fifth in the 200m with a time of 27.35, which was a one-second personal best. She stepped up when her team needed her most.
400m: Shelby Stevens, who was a part of that 4x100 school-record team that achieved their feat at the Penn Relays on April 25, does it again! Breaking the 400m school record previously held by Brianna Petro, 1:06.00, set in 2016. Shelby not only broke the record with a time of 59.66 but also took second overall!
