To Report Your Student Absent

Attendance Reporting now done in the Parent Portal

The Attendance Form to submit absences, tardies, and a change of dismissal will be in the Parent Portal.  To access the Attendance Form,  log into the Parent Portal and click "Forms" on the left side menu.  The form can also be completed in the app by clicking "More" and then selecting "Forms".

All absences submitted to the school, must be reported by the parent/guardian on file with the school.  This includes email addresses and phone numbers.

All additional documentation (i.e. doctor's notes, appointment confirmations, etc.) must be received by the Attendance Office within 5 days of the student's return date. If reported using the online form, it will serve as a parent/guardian note as long as it is received within 5 days of the student's return date.   

To Report Your Student Tardy

Tardy students must check in at the Attendance Office upon arrival to school. Your child must have their Student ID and a note explaining the reason for lateness (i.e. doctor’s notes, appointment confirmations, etc.) if applicable.
Students must be present (signed in through the Attendance Office) by 11:20 AM on the day of an event in order to participate in or represent our school in co-curricular activities such as athletics, drama, band, etc.
 
**Students who, because of a tardy or early dismissal, miss 25 minutes or more of class will be considered absent for the entire class.**

Early Dismissal Instructions

Students requiring an early dismissal must complete the Absence Reporting form located in the Parent Portal.  Select “Early Dismissal” option in the form.

A parent/guardian note must be received by the Attendance Office prior to the start of Block 1 on the day of the dismissal to receive a pass.

Early Dismissal notes must include the following information:

  • Student’s name

  • Reason for dismissal

  • Time of dismissal

  • Parent/ guardian signature and telephone number

  • If anyone other than the parent/guardian is signing the student out, the name of the designated person must be included in the note.  This individual must present Identification to pick up the student.

Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors must be signed out by parent/guardian or designated person stated in the note provided to the Attendance Office.

All Seniors, needing early dismissal (regardless of age) who have their own transportation, must bring a note from the parent/guardian on file (as outlined above) or complete the Absence Reporting form located in the Parent Portal (as outlined above).  Once verified, a pass will be issued to the student and they must sign out from the Attendance Office before leaving school.  
 
* Early dismissal related to illness during the school day can only be granted by the nurse. Students cannot be excused from school if they feel ill without securing release by the nurse. Students are not to call their parents to take them home. The nurse is the only person authorized to contact the parents for permission to sign a student out of school. *
