French class during respect

Students in Maria Kostis’s French 4 Academic class at Bridgewater-Raritan High School are currently studying technology and social media as part of their French curriculum.

To connect their classroom learning with the statewide Week of Respect, students took their learning one step further by exploring the importance of kindness and respect in the digital world.

Working in groups, students created colorful posters focused on stopping cyberbullying and promoting kindness online. They developed original French slogans encouraging others to think before they post, treat others with respect, and use technology positively. Students planned their ideas together, incorporated pictures and creative designs, and worked collaboratively to communicate their messages.

Once their posters were completed, each group presented its message and ideas to the class. Students practiced their French communication skills while discussing an important issue that affects their everyday lives.

Great job and great conversations by all! This activity was a wonderful way for our French 4 students to connect the Week of Respect with their French curriculum while reminding everyone that kindness and respect matter both in person and online.
