A spirited induction ceremony was held by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) on Tuesday, June 9.
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School auditorium was the splendid setting where students were accepted into the elite society in front of a crowd that included family, friends and high school staff.
The National Honor Society is based on four main pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
The Bridgewater-Raritan chapter, guided by Advisor Denise Cimpko-Beller, has been active for several years, setting up volunteer programs for various important school events, such as the annual freshman orientations.
High school juniors are eligible to be invited to the honor society and become fully active members in their senior year.
The ceremony began with a welcome from Rohit Mudduluru, who is the current President of the National Honor Society at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
The accepted students sat on chairs on the auditorium stage as the society’s other leadership seniors explained each of the society’s aforementioned core values.
Leadership was delivered by Karolina Torbus, the Co-Vice President; Service was shared by Elijah Rizkalla, the Co-Vice President; Scholarship was explained by Natalie Chen, the Social Media Manager; and Character was delivered by Megan Tung, the Administrative Liaison.
Co-Vice President Elijah Rizkalla and Treasurer Kausthub Potturi presented the inductees, and Secretary Crystal Chen and Sergeant of Arms Mikayla Abraham presented the certificates.
Principal Dan Hemberger of Bridgewater-Raritan High School provided the congratulatory remarks and oath, and Rohit Mudduluro delivered the closing remarks.
