Twenty members of the National Art Honor Society at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, accompanied by ceramics students, embarked on an inspiring trip to the Grounds for Sculpture, a renowned 42-acre sculpture park and museum in Hamilton on Thursday, May 14.
The visit aimed to deepen students' understanding of contemporary art and engage them with the creative process behind sculpture-making. The students participated in a guided tour led by knowledgeable staff members who shared insights into the artists featured in the park and the stories behind their works.
Following the guided tour, students were allowed to explore the park at their own pace. This allowed them to view a diverse array of sculptures, each offering a unique perspective and artistic expression. Many students took the time to photograph their favorite pieces and discuss their impressions with peers.
The Visual and Performing Arts Teachers at Bridgewater-Raritan High School who accompanied the students on this enriching journey were Sarah Nasson, Jason Draine, and Angela Morin.
“As these young artists continue to develop their craft, they are encouraged to seek inspiration from the world around them,” the teachers said.
