The auditorium at Bridgewater-Raritan High School was turned into a learning center on how to apply to college successfully.

On Tuesday, April 28, Bridgewater-Raritan High School sponsored its first-ever College Admissions Panel.

This valuable and well-informed session was directed by Jessica Kaiser, the College and Career Counselor/AP Coordinator at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

Ms. Kaiser explained just one of the many creative and useful sessions that she has coordinated in her key role at the high school.

“Admissions officers from Rutgers-New Brunswick, Penn State, New York University, Lafayette College and Stevens Institute of Technology provided valuable insight on what colleges are looking for, how applications are reviewed and made recommendations on what students should and shouldn't do throughout the process,” she said.

Ms. Kaiser further shared the crucial points made during the evening.

“Representatives stressed the importance of rigor in a student's transcript, but challenging appropriately and the need for quality over quantity of extracurricular activities where students can demonstrate impact.”

“Students were also advised on how to find colleges that are a good fit for them,” she said.

Ms. Kaiser also reported that the presentation was recorded and will be posted to the high school website once available.
