The Festival of the Arts, a showcase performance of the Visual and Performing Arts program in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, will be staged from Tuesday, March 24, through Thursday, March 25, with the presentation of three concerts.
The spacious Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium at Bridgewater-Raritan High School will serve as the concert hall for each show that will start at 7 p.m.
The Festival of the Arts will be launched on Tuesday, March 24, when the Choral Ensembles from Grades 4 through 12 will present the Choral Concert.
The following evening, Wednesday, March 25, students from Grades 6 through 12 will perform in the Orchestra Concert.
The third and final performance of the week will be held on Thursday, March 26, when musicians in Grades 6 through 12 will play in the Band Concert.
The fourth and final leg in the Festival of the Arts is the Visual Art Exhibit, which will be displayed on Thursday, June 4, at 6 p.m. in the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Cafeteria. Student artists from all grades in the school district will have their works presented that evening.
Matt McCarthy, the school district’s Supervisor for Arts Education, is the guiding force behind the Visual and Arts program’s signature event.
“Over 2,000 students in Grades 4-12 will take the stage and fill the walls with their work, and I could not be prouder of what they have accomplished,” Mr. McCarthy stated. “Seeing the progression from our youngest artists and musicians all the way through our high school ensembles and advanced art courses is truly one of the highlights of my year.
He added:
“ It is a living testament to the strength of our Visual and Performing Arts curriculum and the incredible educators who bring it to life every day.”
