Student Council members from Bridgewater-Raritan High School presented at the New Jersey Association of Student Councils Winter Conference on Tuesday, January 13, at The College of New Jersey.
The high school’s Student Council members were accompanied by their advisors, Sarah Cleary and Michele Mammone.
Ms.Cleary explained the session.
“The conference had a keynote speaker, Tei Street, who kicked off the conference. There was also voting for next year's state officers. We received Honor School recognition. The state charity in attendance was Crisis Response Canines. Their mission is to "provide strength, comfort, and emotional support to individuals, families, communities, and first responders experiencing intense traumatic emotions in the aftermath of critical incidents." There were a number of dogs in attendance for the charity.”
She further detailed the conference.
“The second portion of the day was student-led workshops. Our Student Council gave a presentation on our freshmen Olympics earlier this year.”
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School's Student Council sponsored the Freshmen Olympics, a variety of games and matches that were played on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 28, and performed with plenty of excitement on the 1000 Turf Field.
