Maria Kostis is one proud teacher.
Ms. Kostis, who is a French Teacher at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, shared how thrilled she is with her students after their participation and attention they provided to a pair of guest speakers on the morning of Wednesday, October 29, in the high school's 500 Building.
Phidias Tettekpow and his wife, Semepha Tettekpoe, who have presented at French classes under Ms. Kostit's during the last few years, returned to speak to a group of students who were engaged with the presentation. They are the parents of senior student Thea Tettekpoe, which is a factor in their annual visits.
“My AP French students impress me every day with their confidence, curiosity, and engagement throughout our everyday class discussions,’ Ms. Kostis claimed. “ It is especially inspiring to see how far they’ve come, having only started their French studies in 7th grade.”
She explained the presentation, one that went off quite well.
“ For the activity, the speakers and I divided the class into two groups since I have a class of 27 students,’ Ms. Kostis said. “This allowed each student to enjoy a more personalized experience and gave everyone the opportunity to speak and actively participate.”
Ms. Kostis was very pleased by what she observed.
“My students' enthusiasm and skill today with our guest speakers truly showcased the power of language learning and cultural connection!”
“I am so proud to be their teacher.”
