Year one was a huge success.

On Friday, June 6, Bridgewater-Raritan High School staff and students celebrated the successful culmination of the LionHearts pilot program at Raritan Valley Community College.

According to Brenda Hockstein, the enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Teacher in this exceptional program, the first year signalled “ a milestone that marks the dedication, growth, and achievements of its remarkable participants.”

During the celebration on the college campus in Branchburg on the morning of June 6, Ms. Hockstein reported that “students proudly received certificates of participation and completion, symbolizing their hard work and commitment throughout the program.”

She continued.

“As they prepare to leave the school district in their final year, they carry with them not just the knowledge and experience gained, but also the courage and confidence to embark on bold new beginnings.”

“The LionHearts have truly roared—and their journey is just beginning,” Ms. Hockstein proudly claimed.

The valuable educators throughout this highly productive first-year program, along with Ms. Hockstein, were Dr. Sandra Lynch, the Transition Coordinator for the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, and Job Coaches and Teachers Andrew Ciliberto, Suzanne Percival Kathleen Hands, and Kristin Winchock

Ms. Hockstein closed the book on this terrific program for the 2024-2025 school year.

“We are extremely proud of the LionHearts' achievements and look forward to a new group of Bridgewater-Raritan High School students /LionHearts in the fall.”
