Five Bridgewater-Raritan High School student artists received scholarships for their skilled work at the 39th Annual Invitational Art Competition that was held at Mount Olive High School.
The event, which is sponsored by the Mount Olive High School National Art Honor Society, was held on Tuesday, March 18.
According to Sarah Nassan, Art Teacher and the Advisor to the National Art Honor Society at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, the exhibits featured 15 high schools and the artwork was judged on the categories of Drawing. Digital Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, and Crafts.
The competition was adjudicated by Alaina Bailey, Director of Admissions at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia.
One of Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s scholarship winners was Parinita Chandrashekar, who not only received a scholarship of more than $25,000 a year but earned first place in the category of Drawing Parinita will continue to study art at Moore College of Art and Design.
The other four Bridgewater-Raritan students who received scholarships and their future colleges were:
Marlene Morales - University of Hartford - $24,000 a year
Brigid Moffitt - Moore College - $25,000 a year
Kylie Rosander - Moore College - $25,000 a year
Sunny Gutierrez Almonte. Moore College - $25,000 a year
