Phones down, hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
That was the strong message when speakers presented during National Teen Driver Safety Week at Bridgewater-Raritan High School on Tuesday, October 20.
Jacy Good and Steven Johnson of Hang Up and Drive were the guest speakers at the Senior Distracted Driving Assembly in the high school’s auditorium.
Ms. Good shared her powerful story of a 2008 crash caused by a distracted driver that claimed both her parents' lives and left her partially paralyzed.
The presentation was sponsored by the Vincent R. Gagliardi Foundation, which was established in memory of Vincent Gagliardi, who tragically lost his life in a car crash.
Damian Storey, Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s dedicated Assistant Principal for the Senior Class, shared his thoughts about this informative and productive assembly.
"The impact was profound. Jacy and Steve's presentation was incredibly evocative and eye-opening, and their message resonated deeply with our seniors,’ Mr. Storey said. “We are so grateful to both of them for sharing their story and to Mr. and Mrs. Gagliardi for their gracious support and sponsorship of this important event."
