Band Concert capped a run of sparkling musical performances in the Festival of the Arts

It was only fitting that the final musical performance was as sparkling as the first two shows when the Band Concert was held during the 2024 Festival of the Arts on Thursday, March 21.

The Festival of the Arts, the signature event of the school year for the fine and performing arts program in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, came to a short close when the Band Concert was performed before another attentive and appreciative audience at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium.

The Band Concert was played one day after the Orchestra Concert was performed on March 20. The Chorus Concert launched the 2024 Festival of the Arts on March 13. All were played at the high school's main gym.

The fourth and final event in the 2024 Festival of the Arts will be the Visual Arts Exhibit on April 17 at the high school’s gym and cafeteria.

Following the welcome by Matt McCarthy, the Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts for  the school district, the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School’s 7th Grade Band played The Star-Spangled Banner to open the Band Concert.

The schools then delivered their wonderful sounds.

The combined Hillside and Eisenhower Intermediate School’s 6th Grade Band students began the show under their Director Jacob Ulm.

Barron Caromano, the Middle School 7th Grade Band Director, then conducted his students. Their schoolmates in the 8th Grade Band, under Middle School Director Ashlen Udell, followed with their performance.

Ms. Udell was then the conductor for the following showing when the Middle School Wind Ensemble played.

The final four acts of the evening were presented by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School bands.

Nick Mossa, who is the high school’s Co-Director of the Band with Dr. Tom Bourgault, was the conductor for the Concert Band.

The Symphonic Band, also under the guidance of Mr. Mossa, followed with its sterling performance.

Dr. Bourgault then served as the conductor when the Wind Ensemble produced the final two performances to cap a terrific night of music.

Here is the complete program of the Band Concert.
