Football team falls to Hillsborough in home opener on September 9

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School football team dropped its home opener of the 2022 season when the Panthers fell to rival Hillsborough High School, 17-6, on Friday night, September 9, at Basilone Field in Bridgewater.

A large turnout watched Bridgewater-Raritan cut its deficit to 10-6 just 19 seconds before the half when Matt Maciolek hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jack Bray.

But Hillsborough put the game away in the fourth period on a long scoring pass play that led to a 17-6 score.

The defeat left Bridgewater-Raritan with a 1-2 record, with Hunterdon Central Regional High School next up on the schedule.
